Stompy and The Heat vinyl album launch

Stompy and The Heat will be launching their brand new vinyl album at The Cherry Bar on Saturday June 8.

Special guests on the night are Swedish Magazines and Knitting For Gran. The band have tracks about aliens, motorcycles and zombies and will be performing their album in full, so make sure to head along to help the band celebrate.

Revomatrix live every Wednesday in June

Mo’Soul’s first residency has been announced with Melbourne’s groove funk/soul band Revomatrix.

The 8 piece funk band released their first full length album in October 2012 with 17 original tracks, and will perform all of those and more on the Ding Dong Lounge stage each week.

Special guests throughout the residency are DJ Vince Peach and Miss Goldie.

Make sure to head to the Ding Dong Lounge at 8pm every Wednesday throughout June to see these three acts. And best of all, entry is completely free!

Danny T performing at Can’t Say

Queenslander Danny T from Sweat It Out will be performing at Can’t Say.
Danny T has had a series of dancefloor chart toppers and now has a new studio in Sydney.

Support for the night is Flexx and Kolors.

Can’t Say takes place at Platform One, 379 Flinders Street starting at 9pm on Friday 31st May. The cost is $20, or $15 if you’re lucky enough to know the password.

Into The Woods vinyl album launch

The debut album from Into The Woods is here, and will be released on 12” vinyl with free download. Not only have the band just signed with not for profit record label Sound Of Melbourne Records, but they are also holding an album launch.

The launch takes place on Saturday June 15 at The Toff in Town. It starts at 7:30, with tickets costing $10.

Special guests on the night are Wiley Red Fox and Pensive Penguin.

New single “I Mark The Day” will also be released to radio to coincide with the album launch. Make sure to head to The Toff in Town on June 15 to help the band celebrate the new album.

Apes Helluva Tour

Melbourne four-piece Helluva released their debut single “Seven” last year, and are just about to release their debut EP Helluva, set for release this June. The second single “Helluva Time” will be released on May 31.

To celebrate the release the band will embark on their biggest tour to date, touring all states except NT throughout June, July and August.

Skyscraper Stan and the Commission Flats EP Launch

Skyscraper Stan and the Commission Flats will be launching their debut EP Tall Stories at their Old Bar Sunday residency, starting June 2.

Skyscraper Stan is fronted by cousins-raised-as-brothers, Stanley and Oskar, and backed up by their bassist, drummer, and soulful horn section. The band have also played with bands including Chris Russell, Delaney Davidson and The Toot Toot Toots.

Special guests for the EP launch are Clinkerfield and Gator Queen.

Skyscraper Stan and the Commission Flats will continue their residency every Sunday in June with a ton of special guests, but to help them celebrate the launch of the EP, make sure to head to the Old Bar on June 2.

Collage turns 10 years old

Collage has become the longest running independent music showcase in Melbourne, celebrating its 10th anniversary on Saturday 22 June.

The 10th anniversary will be held in the Espy Gershwin Room, and will feature Virtue, The Twoks, Gretchen Lewis, Zoophyte, Le Belle, Sunday Chairs, Jordan Walker, Hazelman Brothers and Peta Evans Taylor.

Tickets are $13+bf and are available at www.espy.com.au or all Oztix outlets.
